History of Family Camping Veldzicht Terschelling.

Camping Veldzicht was established in 1957. Foundress Mrs. A. Bonne-Swart, (the present owner’s grandmother) learnt from the then Tourist Information Office manager that tourism on Terschelling would heavily increase soon. In order to generate additional income she decided to rent pitches for tents.

Later on tent houses replaced the tents and changed the camping’s character. As her son took over the camping permanent accommodations, mobile homes, were placed. The camping facilities were also improved. Vent stacks and septic tanks were removed and replaced by a sewer system. Also, a toilet building was built.

From 1992, as the present owner started, until today the facilities have been adapted to our guests’ needs and to the modern requirements each year. The camping’s character, however, hasn’t changed a bit: a pleasant and child-friendly family camping.
